The film opens with the two strangers, both newly graduated from the University of Chicago, share a car trip from Chicago to New York, where they are both going to make their way. During the trip, they discuss aspects of their characters and their lives, eventually deciding it is impossible for men and women to be "just friends." They arrive in New York and go their separate ways. They meet a few years later on an airplane and Harry reveals he is married. They meet again at a bookstore a few years after that where Harry reveals he is now divorced. From that point on, the two form a friendship. Eventually their closeness results in their respective best friends (played by Carrie Fisher and Bruno Kirby) meeting and falling in love with each other. At a New Year's Eve party Harry and Sally confront the complex tangle of emotions they feel for each other; Liked It - 183009 Votes.

The world needs more Rom-Coms like this❤❤❤. 1:50 that poker face though. @st3nkobe I concur! Definitely a boy lover. In this story, the couple is meeting for breif moments until the main timeline is in place.
Gradually, u observe that their personaleties changes, and if they tried to get togther in thier first aquaintance they wouldn't have been successful at all.
With time they get more mature and thier views changes as u can spot with each of their period meetings.
In the final timeline they are turning to good friends, with no emotionts to each other, until u start to understand, there is. And the process in which they realize it, is funny and captivating to watch.

 

LOVE the pecan pie thing. Wow 12 years later and I'm still watching this lol. I'm convinced that everyone should see "When Harry Met Sally" just for the orgasm scene. I can assure you it's worth sitting through a romantic comedy for (on display here is meg Ryan's considerable charm and comedic talents) and it's a classic piece of cinema for a reason. And speaking of romantic comedies, here's one that defies the ridiculously formulaic nature of the genre as it's become in recent years; intelligent, accessible, and even though the relationship material has been mined by myriad sitcoms over the last twenty years, its voice still seems fresh. The dialogue's got wit, and it works well given this well-chosen cast.
Even if this isn't doing it for you, settle in for a great Harry Connick Jr. soundtrack.

Yes it is! This fantastic romantic comedy set all standarts for the ones that came after but none achieved what this movie did. Meg Ryan is an excellent actress and she is the best actress to play the role of Sally.I don't think any other actress could fill her shoes in this one. My grandfather and mom liked this movie. The slow roll-out of the break-up is what kills me. Happens so much in break-ups, either to me or people I've known. It's like when you see a car crash and everything slows to a crawl before collision. One of the best movies ever. When you here Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around and you think of Bill Nighy from Love Actually hahhaa. Love it when he call's her and sing over the phone. so sweet. and understand she dont want to be a consolation price anymore...
